The trainer has his string in great form at the moment and he has booked a jockey who rides better here than almost anywhere else which has to be a major plus. It's her first time on the horse and her 3lb claim could make all the difference here with the horse having won off 50 and beaten less than a length off 56 in her 2 runs at the course. She's down to 46 now and that's before the jockeys claim so her chances are there for all to see.

This is the only last time out winner in the field and can defy a 3lb rise with the same 3lb claimer booked who rode the horse to victory on his first ride on the horse last time out. That was over c&d and it seems fairly clear that the same front running tactics will be used again since that's clearly the way to ride the horse. The 5/1 looks too big and this one will surely go off shorter.

The handicapper has obviously hiked this one up the weights after winning with stacks in hand at Epsom last time out but that was the horses first run for a new (and bigger trainer) and there's every chance that the amount he's improved the horse is still ahead of the handicapper. The real key looks to be the time of that easy victory compared with previous runnings and subsequent performances of the horses that ran similar (usually slower) times. Quite simply, it's fairly clear that despite the rise in the handicap, this one should still be capable of winning this.

The jockey booking looks significant here for this horse which has had several different riders, and has the look of a horse that's being lined up for a big handicap. The last time Neil Callan was booked, the horse was placed in a typically hot Goodwood handicap off a 5lb higher mark. Callan was also on board when he won a 19 runner handicap on the horse off a 2lb higher mark. Would arguably life it a little softer, but has some decent form on good ground too so we should get a run for our money at 25/1.

I like the upgrade in jockey here with Ryan Moore booked for just the 2nd time, he chased home the Group 1 winning Creative Force, the only other time he rode this horse. Spycatcher has had 2 races here and been runner up both times, once in a Group 3 and once in a Group 2. This all points to him going close here and his staying on 6yo debut run last time out was a terrific effort and full of promise for this season.

A flat left handed track is where this horses best form has been and he drops down in class now to a level where he's had a win and a second from 4 attempts. He's also been beaten less than a length here when 2nd of 16 off an 8lb higher mark so this 5yo warrants plenty of respect with the trainer booking one of his usual jockeys that does particularly well for the stable.
