Ant Colony ran in a maiden and finished 6th at Newbury where the form is working out extremely well, with the 2nd and 4th winning since and the 3rd 6th and 7th all finishing second next time out in decent races. Obviously has to run his own race here but could go on to bigger things after this

This looks like a good race for a Class 3 and with loads of early pace on I'm hoping Auric can arrive late to play a part. He won a 6 runner Novice Stakes in early April and the 4th 5th and 6th have all won next time out. He then finished 2nd last time out with the 4th coming out and winning since. Hugo Palmer does well at Chester with an 18.5% strikerate in the last year and works out at about 21 pound profit to 1 pound Stakes if you backed all those runners

Ottoman Styles last run was a beginners chase 6 months ago where he finished 4th, with the first 3 all winning decent pots between them since including Pinkerton who won at the Punchestown Festival last week. He won 3 times over hurdles all over longer trips so step up in distance will surely suit

I think this should be pretty straight forward for Queens Guard who finished second last time out to Dyrholaey who was completing a hattrick. Queens Guard was beaten a neck but finished near 5 lengths ahead of 3rd. She was entered in Group 2 and listed events last season and could have decent targets this year too

This looks a quality race and you wouldn't be surprised if any of the runners won but Better Days Ahead won the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham and while that was over 2 and a half mile it was a good staying in performance and has won his maiden over todays trip. Danny Gilligan keeps the ride and should go close

Padraig Roche is in decent form with 2 winners and 2 seconds from his last 6 sent to post and Shadow Rider is his only runner today, he steps in to veteran company and is one of three 10 year olds in the race but has been keeping good company outside of this discipline, he finished 2nd last time out in a Listed hurdle and had Chosen Witness in 4th behind him who went over to Ayr to score for Willie Mullins since. Shadow Rider is probably a better hurdler than chaser but he did win over fences for Willie Mullins and has a favourites chance here

Willie Mullins had a mixed day in search of British Trainers championship and has 2 runners at Perth today with Milo Lises looking his best chance now he opened his account. He won over hurdles for the first time, that was under todays rider Brian Hayes but possibly his best run was 2nd in the valuable bumper at Punchestown last year where 6 of the runners that day have won races since and ran at some of the good festivals. If retaining that ability he will be one to follow during the summer starting today

Some decent staying types win this race, Kittys Light won it last year before winning the Bet365 Gold Cup and latterly doing well in the Grand National. Surrey Quest mightnt be that good but would have been bought with these valuable staying handicaps in mind and is unexposed, having just 6 runs over fences, winning twice both for this yard. I like Kevin Brogan as a jockey and with ground conditions to suit could run a big race

He was turned over at long odds on on the Allweather last time out but the winner could be decent. Army Ethos won on debut before finishing a tight second in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot with a number of next time out winners from that race and Aidan O Briens winner finished 3rd in the Group 1 Prix De Morny. Good draw in my eyes today and could go well

Hard to gauge Primoz and if this opening mark is lenient or not but he bolted up in a course and distance maiden with the 2nd that day winning twice since and the 3rd winning next time out. Primoz then disappointed in next 2 starts but one of those was a valuable pot won by Kamsinas so it underlines what the yard think of this horse. Lucinda Russell Yard has gone quiet but they like this meeting and I'm hoping he can bounce back to form

Plenty of other horses in todays field with chances but Emotivo could have a big run in her

I always like a Paul Midgely sprinter and Burning Cash is another one of those, all his races have been over this sort of trip with all 3 of his wins too. Returned to auction this season with a decent 2nd on the AW before disappointing last time but I think that's factored into his price today and is capable of a better run today under Jason Hart who rides for the first time

His better form is over slightly shorter trips than today's but from this yard that doesn't concern me.

A classy race with a number of horses thay have a chance but we could get a surprise if one of the top 2 don't perform so I'm chancing Nemean Lion who has made rapid progress since arriving from France, where he finished 2nd in a Group 2 on the flat. He has ran 9 times over hurdles for Kerry Lee, winning 4 including the Grade 2 Kingwell hurdle then finished 7th in the Champion hurdle, but to me the step up to 2m4f here will benefit him as was seen in the Lanzarote Hurdle where he finished 2nd in January. A big ask for him to win here but looks set to play a part

Class 6 tends to be his level but worth exploring a Class 5 again. He won over 2 miles and 1 mile 5 furlong last season both at Left handed tracks like today and Jason Hart who is in alright form gets the leg up for the first time, warmed up for a season on the turf with a spin on the All weather a few weeks ago and might be there at the end
