The Gina Nicholls trained Saint Bibiana went into my tracker back in Dec 22 after winning a bumper at Uttoxeter. The 7yo mare has only raced twice in h/caps finishing 2nd & 3rd. She is top rated here and I think she is overpriced, a big run is anticipated.

Trainer Ed Walker horses are running well at the minute and he sends just the 1 runner across the channel for the Prix de St-Georges worth 50k for the winner. The 106 rated Makarova has raced here previously when a close up 6/18 to the 117 rated Highfield Princess in the 220k grp1 Prix de l'Abbaye over today's c&d. This grp 3 is well within the 3yo Acclamation fillies capabilities and a big run is expected.

Its hard to imagine jockey Ryan Moore getting excited about anything but he said that about Henry Longfellow. The unbeaten Aidain O'Brien trained 2yo son of Dubawi and the 1000 Guineas/Oaks winner Minding is the form pick here after his 5l victory lto in the €240k Grp1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes over 7f back in Sept 23. The extra 209yds shouldn't be a problem, also the forecast thunder showers could turn the ground soft, which is not a problem, so apart from the skinny odds I think he has a very good chance.

The in form trainer Richard Hughes runs his Zero Carbon in this cl2 21 runner h/cap over 7f. The 5yo Acclamation gelding needs a career best to win but arrives here in good form after winning a cl3 h/cap at Kempton over this trip 38 days ago. He is ridden today by in form George Rooke with a 26% strike rate in the last 14 days and carries 2nd bottom weight with just 8-3. ZC likes to front run and he could get his own way up front as none of the rest particularly like to make it. If he handles the ground then I think he will be hard to keep out of the frame at a big price.

The George Margarson trained Farhh To Shy hasn't been at her best in a couple of h/caps this spring and needs to show more. However a return to Ascot where she won this race last year off a mark of 88, she is in here off 90. She has 6 wins & 4 places from 21 starts on the turf and with the track trip & ground in her favour she could go close at a nice price.

A chance is taken on German import Kolossal who was bought in for 200k. The in form Jamie Osbourne trained 6yo mare is a group horse running in a h/cap. With not much pace in the race if she goes from the front which she did lto, she faded last couple of furlongs but that was over 15f and if allowed to dictate I think she could prove hard to pull back.

King Of The Plains from the James Horton yard is relatively unexposed with just the 6 runs. The well bred Roaring Lion 4yo colt hasn't raced for 225 days but has Oisin Murphy back in the saddle, suggesting that he is ready to go. This cl3 h/cap is wide open but 4yo's have a good record with 10 wins since 2011 and have won in the last 5. I think he is worth an ew paying 4 places.

This looks a decent Novice Stakes with 3 horses costing between 300-550k. Inner Peace has seen the early money and is favorite, Padesha a 300k yearling made a pleasing debut when staying on to finish 4th in the Wood Ditton over a mile at Newmarket 22 days ago. The extra 2f here will suit, as will the ground and a big run is expected from the 3yo with multiple group 1 & 2 entries..

Trainer Andrew Balding won this race back in 2017 with his 6yo Montaly a 16/1 shot. He has 3 in the race all in with a shout with Oisin Murphy riding the favorite Aztec Empire, but no favorite has won this race since Overturn in 2011. I prefer the Hayley Turner ridden Grand Providence who gets in off bottom weight. The 4yo Nathaniel filly has won in this grade, acts on the ground and has won at the trip. 4yo have won this twice in the last 4 years and her draw in 12 shouldn't be a problem as she is a hold up merchant and I'm hoping Haley will be bang there coming round the final bend with a wet sail.

The 7 time Chester Cup winner Sir Michael Stoute sends out Passenger who had a successful season as a 3yo and should be a force to be reckoned with this season as a 4yo. Likely to start off as favorite here, after making a winning debut as a 3yo in the Wood Ditton before unlucky not to follow up in the Dante. U/p in the Derby but back on track after a break when the winner of Group 3 at Windsor on his final start of last season. If fully wound up then I think he is the one to beat.

The Evan Williams trained Old Gold syndicate owned of which I own a share, Henry Box Brown is probably the right price on what he has shown in his chases so far. However he has had plenty of schooling and Henry is a bigger and stronger horse than he was last year. He has really come to hand over the last few weeks but Evan is keen for him to do his running on the course, so he should still come on for the run. This is not the strongest looking cl4 h/cap and with some bookies paying 4 places HBB is worth a small ew play.

I'm getting on Dancing City while the 5/2 is about as I think he will start off much shorter. Stellar Story beat Dancing City into third in the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival on heavy ground but DC came out and was impressive when winning by 5 1/2l in a Grade 1 at Aintree on soft ground and can reverse the form on better ground with SS. Trainer Willie Mullins has won this race 7 times since 2012 and is on a 4 timer, his last 3 winners aren't that bad either with Gaelic Warrior 2023 , The Nice Guy 22 and Galopin Des Champs in 21.

It's the 1st day of the 5 day Festival but tred carefully as it's the end of the season with upsets aplenty. The in form Harry Derham stable have had 6 from 19 (31.58%) hurdle winners . He sends over 6 horses the 1st being Brentford Hope. The 7yo Camelot colt has been in great form this spring, winning his last 2 races. He is top rated on 143 for this cl1 Listed H/cap and carries top weight. The forecast rain won't hurt his chances. it’s going to be a big task off a career high mark of 143 but this is only his 4th run since Dec 2nd and he shouldn't be far away.

I'm taking a chance in what looks a below average cl5 Apprentice H/cap that Dayman will handle the undulating Brighton track. The 5yo Oasis Dream gelding has only had 4 of 18 runs on turf without placing but 3 of those runs were at York cl3, Newbury cl2 & Sandown cl3. He hasnt won since June 2022 in a cl4 off 79 but races here off 73 plus Owen Lewis takes off 5lbs. If he brings his A game I think he is better than these and he should go close at a nice price.
