Ollie Pears trainer of the above has only a small string but he can train the stable had a winner the other day and the selection ran a decent race at Musselburgh finishing second the first two putting distance between themselves and the third up 2 pounds for that effort which is not insurmountable has a decent draw and Cam Hardie rides over the same distance and in the same class I do not know if the expected rain will have reached Catterick by off time but all is in place for a decent run and assuming it repeats its efforts of a few weeks prior has a reasonable chance of success

Ran a really nice race first time out in October of last year to finish 3rd from the 10draw over 6 furlongs at Wolverhampton was green and ridden by Rossa R was switched and made up a lot of ground in the last have furlong and that run is better than the final run would indicate assuming that after 200 plus days off the track it is fit s my nap selection a severe drift would negate confidence however

Just caught on the line first time up on heavy going in a fairly ordinary Curragh maiden Apricot Ice is clearly the form pick but was bested by a decent Aiden O type last time the race on all known form should concern these two I lean towards Igor because the going is a lot better you would expect a marked degree of improvement from that first run Wayne Lordan rides who is an able Jockey Ryan O first time up

Should handle the track OK and ran a decent come back race at Epsom on the 23rd of April despite being beaten at odds on by one of Ed Walkers the only downside for me is the horse is a looker but seems a trifle one paced on the evidence I have seen and not a battler I may be way off of the mark you have to take your own interpretation of a race away with you this is crunch time for me I think it should win

Really a race to leave alone for betting purposes I shall be having a small each way on the ludicrously priced Andrew Balding horse not been out for 244 days but showed great promise for the extended trip last year should like the ground draw good is it fit first time up not a scooby doo .Hayley rides one of Baldings 3 at the bottom of the handicap which looks to have chances as does Iam williams Aqaam and Buick on Magellan Strait but the truth is you could name anyone of them and it would have a shout

I do not think Israr is the best horse in the race but has some decent form although blew out in Quatar earlier this year I do not like backing Gosden horses just a prejudice no reason they appear to me to be a bit slow to come to hand this year Jim Crowley is a great pilot and is sure to have the horse well placed I need to see that Sir Michael has worked his magic before I put down the hard earned and William B the rider of Hans Anderson could have a very good day if all goes to plan for him I however feel the general look if the selection favours this race today I would say it is probably a point too short so probably should be a no bet

The money is coming for Dream Magic the well drawn Teal/Buick combination and that and the Burke runner must have great chances highly competitive event I like the selection and Victoria Falls at a price I xxed Victoria because the lack of a recent run which worries me Fools Rush in is very well handicapped on some form though has largely bombed of late fair draw today distance on fast ground may be a tad sharp ridden by the wonderfully competent Saffie O I just love jockeys who improve year on year and never stop learning decent weight no certainty to be in the mix but chances

This is a wonderful race I am not quite sure why I am napping Point Lonsdale given Aiden O's overall stable form at present 100/1 when 6th at Meydan when Auguste Rodin was a short price favourite eased down by Ryan O finishing last There was a very big prize for that race and this is a step up in trip but having had two runs should be cherry ripe and the distance especially with the contours of the Chester track should suit .My intuition tells me arrest annd my red flag says Deauville Legend name them all why dont you well you could and I would not put anyone off but despite the fact it should be a watchers race rather than a backers I am going for it

Over the years I have saved a lot of money by Not backing Sir Michaels short shots I am not suggesting there is anything dodgy about them I just think the market gets carried away however the selection provided Sir Michael with his first winner of the current turf season when it decimated a field at Thirsk ? OK wonderfully ridden by the highly competant Saffie Osborne whether it will be ok on the idiosynctatic Chester track is it too short? yes and because it is ridden by the superb Ryan M it is shorter still will I go crazy on it NO but I will follow the hype and have a small bet but will not be surprised if it is beaten and equally not br surprised if it wins by 5 lenghts

Chester as we know is a track that not all horses take to Hidden Law showed definite signs of greenness when narrowly touched off by Cadogan Place but subsequently won with contemptuous ease at Newbury .Cadogan Place should improve also from that first run .Grosvenor Square trained by the masterful Aiden O has good group form in the tank and is clearly a top level performer as is Agenda his other runner all the usual suspects have runners pay your money take your choice.I am sure Hidden Law is up there with them my only reservation being his ability to act on the track and William Buick wonderful Jock that he is is not always at his best here but he is an intelligent pilot and learns from every ride

To go against Cobden and Nicholls who field a fairly unexposed type is madness the selection took advantage of a decent weight to win at Fakenham's tight track last time and that is an advantage although it would not surprise me if Cobden looked to make all on the Nicholls horse .Tip Top Tonto is up 5 pounds and the race it won was no Champion Hurdle I just find it very difficult to back a horse who has yet to do the distance although it does look within its compass it is the better horse but hopefully not today years ago a betting shop manager in Hatton Garden always used to shout out keep taking them at Fakenham I wonder what happened to Will Shakespeare ?

Well what a Numpty each way well I think it should be a shoe in for four places it has not been out for over 270 days transferred from O'Meara to Twomey I am not sure it is a 5 furlong horse giving me the impression that it would be better suited by slightly further , with the winter months intervening I would not dream of second guessing a trainer as accomplished as Twomey also I think it is wearing a first time visor which will help keep him focussed we shall see

A small stakes nap ran a perfectly satisfactory race first time up clearly blowing away a few cobwebs has the services of Ryan M some decent types oppose anyone who might have improved out of all recognition and in some respects an each way on those might prove to be the better wager but Jumbly has the form in the book and everything looks primed for a major run likely to be a close finish however where the strength of the Jockey will come into play

I picked the selection for this race several months ago but as time passes you start to doubt yourself normally I love this time of year racing wise because you can get some wonderfully priced winners sadly they have eluded me this year .Porta Fortuna is seemingly impervious to the ground and has proved his ability over the distance but sadly this race is as competitive as the 2000s guineas without a heavily weighted favourite and once again most of the field have great chances prior to the race Ran a great race prior to seasons end at Santa Anita but I am never sure how that equates on the world stage but it does prove the horse travels won the Cheveley Park and gives the impression of improvement Trained by Donncha O of the illustious family you have to take fitness on trust beaten by present race favourite in the Moyglare it has definitely improved since then .Ridden by Tom Marquand who I rate as a pilot very very highly we are fortunate that we are in an age when there about 6 race jockeys who would have been at the top in any era

Aiden O has City of Troy and it has every right to be favourite the stable form is not quite up to its normal level and The Boys have a huge financial holding in the success of the place mere mortals like me quake at the sums involved it may win well I backed Night Raider to small ante post stakes when it won at Southwell but time has eroded my confidence it is a most marvellous race and I shall be having a small each way on KevinRyans Inisherin who had quite a remarkable speed figure for sections of the race it won at Newcastle the likely outcome in a field of this quality is that it will finish about 7th or 8th but in my own opinion it is about 15 points overpriced .City of Troy may win very well but promotion is paramount for Ballydoyle and if it does not come good today it will the sheer quality of the field tells you it is not viewed as a shoe in dont take notice of the paper tipsters most have heart failure if they look beyond the favourite

Assuming the ground is good as stated and not too much the soft side of good the horse ridden by Ryan M has a decent chance to defeat the boys getting the allowance we have to take it as read that she has come in her coat etc Harry C has started well as the sons of famous trainers often do when taking over the reins .It is entirely possible that the Appleby runners will have her measure at this stage but a good year awaits of that I am fairly certain

I would not attempt to guess what Jim Bolger thinks about his horses race by race I only know he is a supremely cool cookie who knows exactly how his charges work after winning over 7f in the heavy he put the horse in a better grade at the Curragh over 6f where it finished about midfield and did OK but weakened a little now upped to a mile this Dawn Approach horse has a fair shout at coming back to its previous form on a yielding somewhat tacky surface
