Strong Impact has the jockey S De Sousa riding for the first time who has a good hit rate for trainer R Varian worth mentioning as the stats for Sousa are three rides completed two places at Ascot. Strong Impact's turf record is impressive over a mile two furlongs, the recent race at Chelmsford can be forgiven as probably needed that race coming back from a break. Trainer R Varian drops Strong Impact to the mile as this runner normally runs with the pace, could work out alright, expect a good run.

Back to business with Forget The Way under new management of James Owen who steps this one up in distance for his debut run for this. Good form under previous trainer A King over the two-mile distance, the new trainer has Alex Chadwick riding who claims the 7lballowance, this jockey has a good strike rate for this stable. Forget The Way has placed three times over hurdles with that in mind the combination of the extra distance, the weight allowance should all help. This is a very strong race with a strong clear favourite, Forget The Way should be in the shake up, one to follow.

A few merit considerations here with ten declared to run, we have three runners who have managed to win once and the rest are still maidens. Smooth Silesie who has Billy Loughnane riding does have a chance though this extra distance might be too much, Birkie Boy maybe if this was the Brighton track and a different jockey than Millie Wonnacott or Tres Chic only ever won once with no places. Smooth Silesie would come out on top if coping with the extra yardage, Anglesey Lad looks the position to play the Loughnane stable (used to train Smooth Silesie) has recently run well at Newcastle over 7f back from a break, drop in distance ideal, Anglesey Lad, Smooth Silesie or Monkey Miss (D&C Kuber) just based on trainer and lightly raced. Final decision Tres Chic straight win on straight track, on mark of last win, Shariq Mohd claims the 7lb allowance, Tres Chic due to go up 2lb, should be enough to give the edge here.

Like this race as it is an Amateur's race Class 6 , any with outstanding runners here, taking the price of the favourite into account. Have noticed that trainer J L Flint has two entries with the outsider of the two ridden by the favoured rider for this trainer. The distance of six furlongs is another factor as the majority of these runners have been running over the mile distance recently while Iconic Knight has kept to the seven and six distance, 10/5/2/3/7/7 last season form. The second and third place efforts were at this track the third place under today's rider Amy Tucker finished behind none than today's favourite here Luna Magic that was a mile distance, three lengths seperated the pair that day, Iconic Knight was not fluent leaving the stalls. Not the best returning from a break, then again Alyara the extra runner in this race of this trainer might just be running here for a good reason.

With this small field it is still not easy to see a stand-out runner, initial pick was Rathgar on recent third coming back from a break may have strengthened up, has recently been gelded. It is heavy ground at Goodwood which makes it an unknown for Rathgar who is still yet to find the ideal trip and does still have a question mark regarding stamina or attitude. On that basis got to call Rathgar as a standard tip here.
