To make a case for Micky Fenton's 3 year old Filly GRAND CITIDEL we need to look past the surface and do some digging to be more specific we need to look at this charges pedigree. This Daughter of RIBCHESTER 'Should' (if the DNA in her veins aligns with the past) enjoy the sharp nature of this County Sligo track after all her sires progeny has a 60% Win strike rate here & 29% place strike rate at sharper tracks in general with a 27.96% place strike rate on the good ground & 28.86% place strike rate over this trip (6f) all the past 5 years. This Filly changes tact (from soft ground /straight galloping track) as she drops in class after her best run to date @The Curragh 24 days ago. Jockey Niall McCullagh retains the reins for his only ride today & has a very impressive 37.50% Win strike rate here @Sligo the past 5 years. If all of the above sounds like the ramblings of a mad man then of course stay clear, A bit (a lot!) of faith is needed here but I'm happy to tentatively dip my toe in here each way to appease my intrigue.

Can lightning strike twice? I'm not an expert in fulminology so I really couldn't say but at current odds of 40/1 I'm happy to take that chance. This could all blow up in my face & certainly won't be the first time (and won't be the last) I've eaten humble pie but these odds are too big to ignore so I'll play each way & prey for the lightning.

Tony Martin's 6 year old Gelding SQUIRE OHARA 'Should' strip fitter for his pipe opener @Down Royal 31 days ago & being a Son of MILAN he certainly has the blood in his veins for this 3 mile assignment, Whilst trainer tends to do well with his 'Stayers' (34.38% Place strike rate) & 2nd time out Handicappers with a 31.03% place strike rate. The booking of Jockey Michael O'Sullivan is certainly a positive & whilst he hasn't been grabbing all the headlines hes steadily clocked up a 36.84% place strike rate the past fortnight. With 5 places on offer & now fresh it wouldn't be a total shock if shrewd trainer gets this charge in & amongst the minor money here.
