I still love the casual bet on all sports, especially the horses and golf, but you can catch me in the daily and weekly football comps in the forums most days!

The jukebox man ran a cracker at Cheltenham and Cheltenham runners have a reasonable record here. 6 year olds tend to excel in this race and the Irish havent hit the target too often so I think it might pay to stay with the favourite

This race is exceptionally wide open and very little in the way of recognisable trends out there to help rule many out. Harry Cobden has a great record here, with 2 wins and 2 places from 6 rides and that gives me hoe that kandoo kid can improve on from his very good 2nd which has been franked by the winner since

Pic dorhy may make everyone look silly and is appealing priced given he has done very little wrong and if Jonbon doesn't have the stamina for the extra 4f, or his jumping isnt tidier than LTO, then Nicholls charge will win. However, Jonbon on his day is the best horse in the field and given Henderson has had a few winners I'm hoping the yard is back in form. Breeding suggests he should stay and I'll go for the warm favourite

This could be more open than the market suggests as all supreme runners have scope to improve given Firefox didn't have a smooth race and Misterif appeared a bit worked up. Add to that the impressive form of Dysart Enos, however, mares don't have a great record here. Someone who does is JP McManus with star performers Jonbon, beauvur Daair and My Tent or Yours all winning this race. The breeding of the favourite (Galileo Annie Power) is hard to ignore and if the supreme came a bit early then this could be a nice return to winning ways

Another race where those with a Cheltenham prep appear to have the upper hand. Ocastle Des Mottes didn't settle that well so the use of headgear today may help. He also ran well enough to finish 5th in what was probably a fairly hot race. This has been won by the Irish 3 of the last 4 and despite none of them being Mullins, it's might pay to keep them onside here today

The browns at Cheltenham is arguably the classiest of the three races which horses have come here from. The fact that the last ten of these have been won by something that ran at Cheltenham is too hard to ignore and therefore Ill take a chance on the outsider of those ith Giovinco who ran admirably behind very classy fact or file, had slightly less testing circumstances than Chianti classico so could come on the most. Fresh runner Iroko very much a danger

Paul Nicholls so often does well at aintree to secure a trainer's championship after quiet Cheltenham. He also finds these young horses and gets them firing early. The fact that number 1 jockey is sticking about for the rideand he already has useful win to his name suggesting more could be to come today

Homme Public to me could be overpriced. There is a huge question mark over his ability on ground worse than good to soft having been a NR on soft before. However, in his younger years he did run on tough conditions and perhaps given a few big hitters at the head of the weights are allowing him to carry 11st I think if the trainer allows him to run then his excellent bear form could be enough for a good run

It's on the line fell here last year but since then has run with credit. Throws in the odd dodgy jump and flat spot, but ultimately looks the class act of the field and therefore I'm willing to ignore his quirks today

Bob olinger finished ahead of impaired et passe last time out and there is good reason to back him again as he rejuvenates his career over hurdles. A decent performance in defeat to state man, and wins in his other 2 races, whereas his rival just appears to be unable to get his head in front. The extra distance may favour the favourite, but I'll take Bob to win out

There's been a couple of repeat winners of this in recent times, both horses who didn't excel at Cheltenham.Shishkin comes here with similar form and the denman chase proving to be a good warm up I'll risk against high class Gerri Colombe hoping that the Cheltenham run was a big effort

Grey dawning was an impressive winner at Cheltenham but I can't help think the Skelton's had their charges primed for that meeting. Therefore I am more inclined to go with one of the next two in the market. Of those, impaired et passe seemed a touch outpaced in the arkle and I think he might come into this freshest of the market leaders. The extra distance will also suit
