A student of racing form a subject which has fascinated me since I sat on my late grandfathers knee as he poured over the Sporting Life. My brothers are all football mad and so I grew up knowing my Arsenal from my elbow so to speak and I tend to search for value among the plethora of bets offered by modern bookmakers. My husband is a rugger man so I will occasionally take a punt upon something he has a strong opinion on.

Any Mullins entry priced up at 28/1 has to be looked at closely and it's just possible the layers are reading way too much into her thrashing at Punchestown over Christmas. She went off way too hard there but the jockey allowed her to virtually walk home when it was clear she wouldn't be involved in the finish so the official disatnce isn't really relevant for me. They'll have worked on her and she should do much better this time.

Well safe to say this one was a much better hurdler, six poor efforts into his chasing career now and has failed to finish in three of them but has two things in his favour today- much better ground and the assistance of Darragh O'Keefe. Yard are flying and its not the strongest race so no surprise to see him to better effect today.

Obviously had his problems since and left the Mullins yard after a change of ownership this spring. Was always going to need the run after such an absence when he lined up for new connections at Cork last month. He was beaten 50 lengths in the end but ran well for a long way and managed to beat three rivals home. Likely to be all the better for that and could get involved in the finish here.
